Fred Sonnenberg is a founding partner of Sonnenberg Fortmann (today 24IP Law Group). He studied electrical engineering and physics at the Technical University in Munich and graduated in Physics in 1995. His thesis on the ”Vaporization losses with liquid hydrogen driven vehicles“ was completed at BMW AG’s development department in Munich. After working for a patent law firm in Munich, including a one month internship at a French patent law firm, the German Patent Office, the Federal Patent Court and the District Court in Munich, he passed the Patent Bar and worked for a period of time for several different IP firms.
His academic record and professional experience cover all areas of intellectual property rights. His work is especially directed at forensic work, including regular court appearances in specialized intellectual property right matters, licensing of rights and risk analysis, as well as defences against allegations of infringement made by third parties.
He provides counsel for border seizures for trademarks and legal protection against intellectual property right infringement and has significant experience in arbitration and mediation, most notably with regards to cross-border litigation.
Fred Sonnenberg works in both the German and French legal and economic markets and has a strong interest in the Asian market.
