Christian Fortmann is a founding partner of the 24IP Law Group and has more than 20 years experience in the IP sector. After many years of drafting and prosecuting patents, trademarks and designs for large and small companies around the world, helping them to leverage their IP rights, and defend them against competitors, his main focus today lies with managing multinational IP rights portfolios for European companies of various sizes.
As a patent and trademark attorney, he takes care of all kinds of engineering work within the group, and is a well-known expert in obtaining and defending trademark and design rights, with a particular interest in licensing, anti counterfeiting and infringement control.
He is a sought after lecturer on all kinds of topics in connection with Licensing/Merchandising, building and managing IP rights portfolios, as well as managing disputes in order to achieve the most effective results for the client.
Christian studied engineering and production technology at the TU Clausthal and the University of Zaragoza. He holds an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Litigation from Nottingham Trent University, and is an active member of LIMA (Licensing Industry Merchandisers Association), serving as a member for the international board of directors for the second time already. He speaks German, English, Spanish and French.
